L\u2019hydroxy\u00e9thylcellulose associative, \u00e9galement connue sous le nom d\u2019hydroxy\u00e9thylcellulose modifi\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re hydrophobe (abr\u00e9g\u00e9e en HMHEC), est un \u00e9ther de cellulose modifi\u00e9 de deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Dot\u00e9e d\u2019une structure mol\u00e9culaire associative hydrophobe unique, elle pallie parfaitement les lacunes de la HEC conventionnelle et est devenue l\u2019\u00e9paississant rh\u00e9ologique de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour les formulations \u00e0 base d\u2019eau haut de gamme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qu'est-ce que l'hydroxy\u00e9thylcellulose associative (HMHEC) ?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'hydroxy\u00e9thylcellulose associative est synth\u00e9tis\u00e9e \u00e0 partir d'hydroxy\u00e9thylcellulose d\u00e9riv\u00e9e de coton naturel ou de p\u00e2te de bois, qui constitue la cha\u00eene principale. Des cha\u00eenes lat\u00e9rales hydrophobes alkyliques \u00e0 longue cha\u00eene (C8\u2013C18) sont greff\u00e9es sur le squelette par une r\u00e9action d\u2019\u00e9th\u00e9rification, formant ainsi une structure polym\u00e8re amphiphile compos\u00e9e de cha\u00eenes principales hydrophiles et de cha\u00eenes lat\u00e9rales hydrophobes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Groupes hydroxy\u00e9thyle hydrophiles : permettent une dissolution rapide dans l'eau froide et sont compatibles avec tous les syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 base d'eau.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hydrophobic alkyl side chains: Generate hydrophobic association between molecules and emulsion particles to form a reversible three-dimensional network structure, which gives rise to the name &#8220;associative<br>Contrairement au HEC classique, dont l'\u00e9paississement repose uniquement sur les liaisons hydrog\u00e8ne et l'enchev\u00eatrement mol\u00e9culaire, le HMHEC repose sur un double m\u00e9canisme d'\u00e9paississement combinant les liaisons hydrog\u00e8ne et l'association hydrophobe, ce qui se traduit par une am\u00e9lioration spectaculaire des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s rh\u00e9ologiques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les cinq principaux avantages de HMHEC en termes de performances <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Efficacit\u00e9 d'\u00e9paississement extr\u00eamement \u00e9lev\u00e9e, permettant de r\u00e9duire le co\u00fbt des dosages dans les formulations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour obtenir la m\u00eame viscosit\u00e9 cible, le dosage de HMHEC peut \u00eatre r\u00e9duit de 30% \u00e0 50% par rapport \u00e0 la formule classique HEC. Un faible dosage permet d'obtenir une viscosit\u00e9 id\u00e9ale dans le pot, ce qui r\u00e9duit la quantit\u00e9 de poudre de cellulose \u00e0 ajouter et le co\u00fbt global des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res, ce qui le rend adapt\u00e9 aux formules de production industrielle \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Une pseudoplasticit\u00e9 exceptionnelle pour d\u2019excellentes performances de mise en \u0153uvre (atout majeur pour les rev\u00eatements)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il se caract\u00e9rise par une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de fluidification sous cisaillement marqu\u00e9e :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Faible cisaillement au repos : le syst\u00e8me conserve une viscosit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e pour r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l'affaissement lors de l'application verticale sur les murs, sans coulures m\u00eame en cas d'application d'une couche \u00e9paisse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forte contrainte de cisaillement lors de l'application au rouleau ou au pinceau : la viscosit\u00e9 diminue rapidement, ce qui permet d'obtenir une application lisse et soyeuse. Cela r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les projections de peinture, limite la contamination du chantier et les pertes de produit, et permet d'obtenir des films pr\u00e9sentant moins de traces de pinceau et une plan\u00e9it\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. R\u00e9sistance au sel et aux tensioactifs, performances stables sur une large plage de pH pour les syst\u00e8mes complexes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le HEC classique subit une forte perte de viscosit\u00e9 lorsqu\u2019il est expos\u00e9 \u00e0 des \u00e9lectrolytes ou \u00e0 des tensioactifs \u00e0 forte concentration. Le r\u00e9seau associatif hydrophobe du HMHEC multiplie par 2 \u00e0 3 la r\u00e9sistance au sel, tout en offrant des performances stables dans une plage de pH comprise entre 3,5 et 11,0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Absence de s\u00e9paration de phases dans les produits de lavage \u00e0 forte teneur en sel et les shampoings contenant des agents revitalisants cationiques ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Viscosit\u00e9 stable, sans diminution, pendant le stockage \u00e0 long terme de rev\u00eatements industriels contenant du dioxyde de titane et des charges inorganiques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Stabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme de la suspension pour emp\u00eacher la s\u00e9dimentation des pigments et des phases huileuses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les groupes hydrophobes adsorbent les particules de pigment, les r\u00e9sines en \u00e9mulsion, l'huile de silicone et la graisse afin de stabiliser les phases dispers\u00e9es et de former un syst\u00e8me collo\u00efdal stable :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00a0Peintures au latex : aucune s\u00e9dimentation ni s\u00e9paration de l'eau du dioxyde de titane et des p\u00e2tes colorantes apr\u00e8s plusieurs mois de stockage ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0Produits de soins personnels : dispersion homog\u00e8ne de l'huile de silicone et des huiles essentielles v\u00e9g\u00e9tales, sans accumulation de s\u00e9diments huileux au fond du flacon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>P\u00e2tes d'impression : suspension homog\u00e8ne de colorants permettant d'obtenir des contours nets sans bavures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Les cha\u00eenes lat\u00e9rales hydrophobes du HMHEC r\u00e9duisent l'hydrophilie globale, am\u00e9liorant ainsi consid\u00e9rablement la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'eau et au frottement des films s\u00e9ch\u00e9s. Par ailleurs, il pr\u00e9sente une excellente compatibilit\u00e9 avec les \u00e9mulsions acryliques et les dispersions de PU et ne provoque ni perte de brillance ni voile sur les rev\u00eatements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quatre grands domaines d'application industrielle<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. L'industrie des rev\u00eatements \u00e0 base d'eau (principal domaine d'application)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peintures au latex pour l'int\u00e9rieur et l'ext\u00e9rieur, rev\u00eatements pour bois \u00e0 base d'eau, couches de finition pour plastiques, peintures industrielles anticorrosion \u00e0 base d'eau, encres d'imprimerie \u00e0 base d'eau<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fonctions principales : ajustement des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s rh\u00e9ologiques, r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'affaissement, anti-\u00e9claboussures, suspension des charges et am\u00e9lioration de la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l'eau des films de rev\u00eatement. Produits d'hygi\u00e8ne personnelle et produits chimiques d'usage quotidien (pour les produits de lavage et d'entretien haut de gamme)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shampoing sans sulfate, apr\u00e8s-shampoing, gel douche, cr\u00e8me pour le visage, gel transparent, cr\u00e8me solaire<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le HMHEC est doux et non irritant. Il permet d'\u00e9paissir les formules tout en stabilisant les syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 base d'huile de silicone, offrant ainsi une mousse dense et durable qui ne laisse aucun r\u00e9sidu collant apr\u00e8s rin\u00e7age.
