Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer

SEED PCE Product Details
Polycarboxylate high-performance water reducer (powder form) features a high water reduction rate and superior dispersibility. It is suitable for cement-based systems, gypsum-based systems (heat-resistant), and high-strength concrete. It is widely used in the production of grouting materials, pressure grouting materials, self-leveling mortar, repair mortar, UHPC, and precast components.

SEED PCE Product Advantages
High Water Reduction
Allows for a significant decrease in the water-to-cement ratio, resulting in higher early and ultimate compressive strengths.
Enhanced Workability
Provides excellent flowability and self-leveling properties to mortars without segregation or bleeding.
Synergy with HPMC
Works perfectly alongside SEED HPMC; while HPMC retains water to prevent premature drying, the water-reducing agent ensures the mixture remains highly fluid and easy to apply.
SEED PCE Product Application
SEED PCE Frequently Asked Questions
How does this agent benefit self-leveling mortar?
In self-leveling compounds, achieving a highly fluid consistency usually requires adding excess water, which weakens the final product. Our water-reducing agent disperses cement particles through steric hindrance, providing exceptional flow and leveling properties with minimal water. This results in a smooth, flawless surface that cures with high mechanical strength and zero shrinkage cracks.
Can I use the water-reducing agent together with HPMC or RDP?
Yes, absolutely. Our polycarboxylate-based water-reducing agent is highly compatible with SEED HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) and RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder). In dry-mix mortars, HPMC provides essential water retention to prevent premature drying, while the water-reducing agent ensures the mixture remains highly fluid and easy to apply. Together, they create a perfectly balanced, high-performance mortar.
What is the recommended dosage for the water-reducing agent in dry-mix mortars?
The typical recommended dosage is very low, usually ranging from 0.1% to 0.3% by weight of the cementitious materials. Because our polycarboxylate superplasticizer is highly efficient, even a small amount provides excellent dispersion and flow. We recommend conducting small-scale tests to determine the optimal dosage for your specific formulation and local raw materials.
Does the water-reducing agent affect the setting time of the mortar?
At the recommended dosage, our water-reducing agent is designed to maintain normal setting times while providing excellent workability retention. However, if overdosed, it can cause a slight retardation in the setting time. It is engineered to provide a stable open time, allowing workers sufficient time to apply and finish the material without rushing.
Why choose a polycarboxylate-based (PCE) water reducer over traditional naphthalene-based ones?
Polycarboxylate ether (PCE) superplasticizers represent the latest generation of water-reducing technology. Compared to older naphthalene or melamine-based agents, PCEs offer a much higher water reduction rate (often exceeding 25%) at a significantly lower dosage. They also provide superior slump retention, are more compatible with various cement types, and are environmentally friendly since they do not contain formaldehyde.
